HOBBY FARM CLEARANCE
GIDGEGANNUP
THE AUCTION OUTLINE AND BACKGROUND.
This auction with some 550 lots attracted over 200 people and 110 of them bought something!
Our clients, a consultant systems engineer and his artistic wife, had for the last 23 years enjoyed living “in the hills” and operated this small holding as well.
They both decided that the time was right, now that their daughters had moved out, to downsize and live closer to Midland residentally!
The result of this great attendance was that the demand to buy exceeded our client’s expectations and the actual gross turnover was higher than budgeted.
In fact, the net payment to the seller was about 20% higher than the initial gross estimate.
The farming activities included a few head of sheep and cattle, and along with the family’s love of horses the property produced it’s own feed for the livestock.
To do so the owners had 2 tractors, several utilities, trailers and a variety of pre loved agricultural implements plus some that were actually in the antique age group – but still workable.
A personal interest in collecting, restoring and often using veteran farm machinery and even a 1950’s flat bed Ford truck made up several high interest portions of the auction. On these lots in particular, we had interest and buyers from over 1,000 kms away.
Having lived there for so long and developed the property, there was also an interesting array of building materials and equipment.
